book publishing

So, i've always wanted to publish a book. Mainly, I've wanted to discuss some of my poetry which many times is surreal and naked to me. First, it is surreal because it is difficult to understand since it seems ideal. What I mean by that is this, many times as I am writing poetry I seem to deviate into an ideal world or some sort of nakedly blunt and realistic utopia. It is interesting to picture such poetry, but that's just what it is to me personally. Secondly, what mean by this nakedly or naked term is just what you think about, plainly and simple birthday suit material. I usually write of adult circumstances psychologically, e.g. love, lust, awkward events, preparedness... basically everyday life, and it usually comes down to very simplistically complicated literature which very few enjoy and understand.

Ok soo..., why am I writing this? One reason is because i felt like writing and another is because I am wondering if any of you know what the easiest way with the fewest expenses would be to publish a book?

Truly, what I want to do is this, write my book and print it about 50 times, just to get some publicity[I'm thinking 30-45 pg. book]. Then, I would like to go into a few book stores like Barnes and Noble or Hastings, a public library, whatever, and speak with a manager to see if I would be able to sell my book there [of course discussing numbers and all]** I think this is a better idea than paying some company to publish my book**. I may be old fashion, but i don't mind doing my own work to get a few readers, critics and possibly friends.

Anyway, hope some of you read this and leave some comments!
